I like the contrast that you highlighted between cultivating a healthy level of mobility and stability versus becoming too mobile or stable. I find that too flexible (the YES attitude) or too rigid limits me from living effectively. They talk about intelligence, the ability to have emotions, to create technological wonders, the ability to survive through nature's element, etc.

I used to think that a person's greatest strength lies in their ability to be resilient to the problems that may pass along in life. What I mean specifically is being able to get knocked down and rise again and having faith that things will work out in the end; while knowing that you will be challenged again, and again, and again as you progress through life. The shear experience of conflict would build up your durability so that the next time something "bad" happens you won't be affected as much, because you've already been through tough situations before. The end goal building up an immunity to being negatively affected by ANYTHING (picture trying to put a katana blade through limestone.... impossible).

While being able to cope and adapt to negative situations is critical to our human survival; our end goal should not involve us becoming as dense and impenetrable as stone. Some may see it as strength, when really it is a passive and unexciting way to deal with the gift of life. We are fluid, mobile, and ethereal in nature. People are entities that are at their best when they let conflict and other experiences into their core and pass through them. Our survival and excellence does not only lie in our ability to adapt and cope, but most importantly (and i'm making my point here) in our ability to find solutions and answers. This folks is our greatest attribute. And I'm not talking about going to the moon, or developing the next supercomputer or even figuring out this whole stem-cell thing (which is pretty cool), but finding solutions to the every day problems that cloud our eyes and mind from seeing the bigger picture, which is: "life can be good, and should be good" Ya life is tough, we're in a recession, we allegedly don't have a cancer for cancer, aids, lyme disease, diabetes, we had a lame-o for a president for the past 8 years, people are hungry, dying in Africa, dying in your family, your car got a flat tire, kids are growing up with Lindsay Lohan for their role-models, bills can't be paid on time, you don't make enough money, you don't know what to do w/ your money cuz you make too much, global warming, job losses, divorces, etc. etc. etc. Life can seem unfair and impossible. What we need to do is FIND A SOLUTION. No matter what you believe or what you've heard or read. There is a solution and answer to any and every question, problem or conflict that exists in this universe. We cannot be rocks, and be idle and waste our time worrying. We need to search, learn, believe and execute. When finding your solution find the one (not necessarily the quickest and easiest) the best suits you and possibly your surronding community. Share that solution with other people (but know they may solve the same problem in a different way, but it doesn't hurt to add a tool to their tool box though).

I may be babbling now, but that's ok. In the end... don't freak out when problems come to knock on your door (well, you have a license to freak out... but don't get stuck there). Don't deal w/ your problems by trying to not letting them penetrate you, because in all actuality, they definitely are penetrating you and they are staying with you, and will not leave because unconsciously you are trying to deny their existence... but without you knowing it, they are becoming more a part of you as time goes by.... Lastly, our greatest talent as humans is to find solutions to our problems, their our limitless solutions... find the one that best works for you and take action... and learn from that experience, and pass that knowledge onto others... it sounds lame... but in the end there's always gonna be bills, violence, diseases, inequality (in some form), etc.... FIND YOUR SOLUTION, things will be ok in the end, Life is short.... don't waste it being a rock, or in a constant state of freaking the F out...

site looks great guys! the functionality and medi...

site looks great guys! the functionality and media additions = fantastic

hope the launch party went well... people said they had a great time

I love the new website and have to say that I am v...

I love the new website and have to say that I am very proud to be the older sister of Dan and Ed McCaffrey.
